Small Business Week: Pillars of Local Economies
Small businesses are the heartbeat of our communities, laying the groundwork for thriving local economies. Navigating the growing markets of America requires the collective support of all of us.
DOE recently passed a significant milestone by awarding $10 billion in small business contracts, a billion-dollar increase from the previous year. We are committed to continuing our work, ensuring opportunities for women-owned small businesses, small disadvantaged businesses, service-disabled veteran-owned small businesses, HUBZone small businesses, and traditionally underrepresented business individuals.
From research and development projects to contract awards, DOE provides extensive opportunities for small businesses across every part of the country to contribute to advancing clean energy initiatives.
Recognition of Excellence: A Grade “A” for FY 2022
Recently, DOE achieved an “A” grade for FY 2022 from the U.S. Small Business Administration, recognizing our commitment to advancing equity and increasing opportunities for underserved and overlooked communities. Through OSDBU, we are empowering small businesses, partnering with them through the Small Business Toolbox initiative in collaboration with DOE.
The Small Business Week Toolbox includes resources such as the Federal Procurement Forecast page, which serves as a user-friendly gateway for finding important and subcontracting opportunities related to DOE. It opens the door to intriguing possibilities, from DOE Federal Acquisition Information and Forecasts to Management and Operating Contractors (M&Os)/Facility Management Contractors Acquisition and much more.
Empowering through Education and Resources
From valuable guidance and advice to obtaining more information about the complex nature of DOE procurement, reach out to DOE’s Small Business Program Managers in program offices and our national labs.
The “Resources and Training” page presents a diverse array of educational materials. Dive into informative videos and utilize resources like our Mentor Protégé Program, designed to foster long-term relationships between small businesses and DOE prime contractors, providing support on your business journey.
Our intention is to promote economic and employment growth in our own backyards.
