The statue of George Washington that stands in College Yard at George Washington College is considered one of many copies of an authentic marble likeness made by Jean-Antoine Houdon, the main sculptor in France on the finish of the 18th century. It reveals the Founding Father in a classical and aristocratic pose, one leg barely bent, his posture erect.
